Anything But Books Tag

I was tagged by Doris over at All D Books, so here are my answers to the Anything But Books Tag! No weekly wrap-up this week as I had to be a grown up and drive out of town twice for very adult related chores (car buying). I’m pretty pooped so a tag is what you get! And as always a video is up on the channel if you’d rather listen than read!

  • Name a cartoon(s) that you love
I watch mainly comedy and cartoons on TV, if I watch TV which in itself is rarely. But my favorites are Bob’s Burgers, Gravity Falls (which has sadly ended), and King of the Hill for a comfort kind of show. All of those you’ll notice are funny. I can’t handle tension and drama in my shows.
  • What is your favorite song right now?
I am really digging everything by Alessia Cara, but my favorite of her songs is Wild Things. I’m not really into the indie music scene, I’m just not good at finding things I like, so I tend to do a lot pop music. Stuff that’s easily accessible. It also doesn’t help that I can’t layer sounds so I don’t get to listen to music as much as I used to.
  • What could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?
This one is easy! Gardening! I could stay outside and dig in the ground for hours. Usually I only come in if I get overheated, hungry, or run out of materials. I used to be able to play video games for hours but since my thumb/wrist injury that is not the case at all.
  • What do you love to do that followers might be surprised by?
I’m fairly transparent so this was kind of hard but I went with organizing things? I love to take apart things and putting them back in order. I also love getting tattoos! I’m getting a new one tomorrow in fact!
  • What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing you like to learn about?
Colors and shapes and how they are perceived in the natural world and in human psychology. Like how defensive patterns on moths and butterflies work or why humans interpret red as anger and blue as cool. It may be some left over something from my Art degree but I find that really fascinating.
  • What is something unusual you can do?
This was really hard too! I don’t think this is very unusual for book bloggers/booktube but my husband picked this answer – I can spoil almost everything. I can usually tell you the shape of the plot, romance, relationships and even the twists sometimes pretty early on in the course of tv/movies and such. It’s part of why I avoid them.
  • Name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us if you can)?
I’ve gotten into papercrafting, junk journaling, and that corner of the crafting world! I love playing with paper so I don’t know how I didn’t find this sooner. I make little journals and notebooks now instead of buying them. And usually if I buy them I take them apart or recover them, that sort of thing.
  • What is your most recent personal project?
I’m doing Camp Nanowrimo again! Just like most July’s I’m ticking away slowly at it. I’m also not doing nearly as much this July, everything has just been crazy the past little bit so my goal is low (plus I started late!) so I’m doing it a little at a time.
  • Tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of the window)?
The life outside the window? Things like the birds, animals, and bugs. I wonder about them and how their lives are. How can I make my space better for them and sometimes I make up wild adventures that they go on. Can anyone guess what kind of books I loved reading as a kid? HA!
  • Give us something that’s your favorite, but make it something oddly specific. Not like your favorite food, but your favorite food when you’ve been studying for hours and forgot to eat.
When I’m outside gardening, I’ve been in the zone and singing – just having a good time. I love looking up and seeing the wildlife around me. We have a lot of rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. around the house. In the back yard especially they tend to just ignore me once I’ve been back there. The rabbit just follows me around and digs through my cast off dirt and the birds do much the same. I like being accepted like that. I try to respect that too and take care of them. My husband calls me part Disney princess, part Evil Queen.

That’s it for my Anything But Books Tag! What is everyone else’s answers? Who else has done this? And thanks for reading!
