I am going to admit to some pretty shameful things here. Please keep in mind I’m a frequent victim to overhype, I don’t have that much time for reading (lies), and I picked up a lot of these to read so late I missed the bandwagon – EXCUSES!
There are a lot of good reasons I haven’t read or finished these yet, and I swear I am going to read them! So please, don’t hurt me.
1) The Grisha Trilogy
Everyone loves this and it has a fabulous setting. I have all but the last and just haven’t started them…
2) The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan
To be fair I want to hurt myself for this one. I have the beautiful box set and I’ve read the first Percy series. I’m just scared of the feels.
3) The Hunger Games
You know what. Screw it. No excuse. Just my overhyped, hipster, evil core screaming ‘Nooooooo’
4) The Old Man’s War series by John Sclazi
I am fixing this one! I swear! I have the first one on my desk, in fact it’s a backup book for my #TBRTakedown tbr.
5) The Bloodlines series and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Again this one I am pissed at myself for. I adore Richelle’s writing, Her Georgina Kincade series is one of my favorites. I’m on book 5 of VA, I just don’t get along with Rose aka BAD DECISION QUEEN.
6) The Others by Anne Bishop
This has just been getting popular lately. I have in the past, read her previous series… The Black Jewels? I think that’s the name on it.
7) Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
Right now I’m not in a place for Game of Thrones. After the debacle of the TV show I’m not really interested in it… at all.
8) Penryn and the End of Days by Susan Ee
I have the first two! And they’re all pretty short, so this will happen soon. I swear!
9) Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
This is one of those dystopian series that I could just breeze through if I would sit down and actually read it but I haven’t had the spare change to pick up some copies. *shame*
10) Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
I really want to read this series. I’ve heard amazing things, across the board, about the main character, the development, the world, all of it. I am just a terrible human being like that.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. A tiny percent of the unbelievably long list of books and their series that I haven’t read and probably should.
