Happy Home Designer : Is it really that happy?

Yes.
Okay, so that we’re clear I adore this little game. I don’t have near enough time to play it as I want (I get maybe a house or two in a night), but it’s still keeping my attention in the weeks since it’s release.

I can however see how people wouldn’t enjoy this. There is no clear end-game goal. The game revolves around designing houses, the best goal you have is to try and collect as much furniture as possible. You do have a town that you can design buildings for, but once completed you don’t revisit them much. Additionally the characters you collect (with the exception of like 20) all will randomly show up in the town. The cards are just a collection gimmick.
However if you loved Animal Crossing, especially the decorating portion of it, you’ll enjoy this. I would recommend watching some twitch streams or looking at images of the game before deciding for yourself if you want to play. It’s a great way to just check out and enjoy yourself.
